Set off for a day discovering the Inzerki apiary, the largest collective apiary in the world, alongside Saïd, a guide native to the valley, a beekeeper committed to preserving this unique site and its environment. Passionate and deeply attached to his land, he shares his outlook and his bond with nature with real simplicity. The day begins with a hike of around 1h30, adaptable to your level, through unspoilt nature dotted with argan trees, carob trees and thuyas. Along the way, Saïd explains the traditional irrigation systems, talks about the effects of the drought and shares memories of his childhood in the valley. You then join Brahim, also a beekeeper, at the Inzerki apiary. Welcomed into his home, you begin with a tasting of honeys and olive oil produced on site, along with a mint tea, before sharing a tagine prepared by his wife Hafida. The return is a walk of around 30 minutes through the gardens, with superb views over the valley, marked by the contrast between the red earth and the greenery. A simple, restorative day, perfect for switching off: here, the phone signal is scarce, and all the better for it.

HOW TO PREPARE WELL FOR YOUR DAY
When you book, let us know the date and time slot of your choice. Go for the morning if you prefer to avoid the intense heat.
The hiking route presents no difficulty and is suitable for families (walking time of around 1h30 to 1h45). For the more sporty, we can offer a route of 2h30 to 3h with more elevation gain. Please let us know when you book so that we can adapt the day's timings accordingly.
Put on good trainers or walking shoes (no smooth soles), and something to keep you warm in winter (you will be at 1,000 m altitude): the ideal is to have several layers of clothing that you can take off or put back on as the temperature varies. Bring a cap, sunglasses and sun cream, even if it is grey and cold on the coast: in the mountains, there is sunshine almost all the time!
Remember to bring a bottle of water per person, and perhaps a small snack to give you a boost during the hike.
The mobile signal is very weak in the region, and all the better for it! But do not plan on answering any urgent emails on the day of your Inzerki hike!
Brahim sells his pure honey production. Take the chance to buy local and bring qual ity products home in your suitcase!
