Escape the coastal bustle of Agadir for a day and head to a family farm just 40 minutes away, to try your hand at Berber cooking in a setting quite unlike any other. A truly peaceful sanctuary filled with olive trees, fruit trees, rose bushes and some very chatty resident peacocks! Oumayma and her family welcome you with traditional tea and, above all, a great deal of generosity. A former economics specialist in Rabat turned guardian of her ancestors' land, Oumayma will share with you the story of this ecological project and her vision of an authentic Morocco. Then comes the moment to get hands-on with a rather unusual Berber cooking workshop, held outdoors in a unique open-air kitchen built from earth and bamboo. Under the guidance of Oumayma and her mother Souad, you will learn the secrets of Moroccan "slow food" using traditional tools, a stone mortar for the spices and a terracotta kanoun for the fire, to prepare an authentic chicken and vegetable tagine along with a seasonal Moroccan starter. While the meal simmers, a tour of the farm is the perfect chance to feed the hens and listen to the birdsong. The morning ends around a shared table outdoors beneath an enormous ficus tree, tasting the fruits of your work in an atmosphere of simple, sincere generosity. More than a meal, this Berber cooking workshop is a real moment of connection with the land and those who cultivate it.
