Set off on an adventure to the south of Essaouira, where vast wild beaches stretch for dozens of miles. Enjoy a walk of about 2.5 hours along these pristine, dune-lined beaches, lulled by the scent of sea spray and the soothing sound of the waves. This guided walk is a relaxing break that lets you disconnect from everyday life, while breathing in the fresh ocean air and admiring the natural beauty of an Essaouira beach. Hidden behind the dunes are charming little waterfalls, which only flow when it rains but are vital for irrigating the local crops, creating a natural palette that blends the green of the fields, the blue of the ocean and the golden yellow of the sand.
Perched on a nearby cliff sits a marabout, a small mausoleum that serves as the final resting place of a local saint. Your guide will share the significance of these sacred sites in Moroccan culture, while introducing you to the local flora and the traditional Amazigh way of life. Along the way, you’ll be welcomed into the home of a fisherman or a Berber family for traditional mint tea. This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture, share stories, and experience legendary Berber hospitality.
