If you're looking for an ethical, animal-friendly camel ride in Essaouira, look no further! To the north of the city lies a wild beach stretching 15 km. Astride a dromedary, you’ll gain a bit of height and set off for two hours of 'swaying meditation'. Between the ocean and the dunes, you'll cross this deserted beach and enter the heart of a forest of acacias, junipers, and eucalyptus, known as the 'Essaouira Green Belt.' The landscapes are unmistakably reminiscent of the Dune of Pilat! Your guide, Rachid, is full of stories about his dromedaries, whom he treats with the utmost respect. He is also deeply knowledgeable about the region and committed to environmental protection; the conversations are often fascinating!
Afterward, it's time to say goodbye to your camel and settle down for a delightful vegetarian picnic in the shade of the trees, prepared by your guide. You will then return to Essaouira on foot through the wild, dense vegetation of the dunes, which offer a unique panoramic view of the city. Throughout the walk (approximately 1.5 hours), you’ll have the opportunity to observe the local Flora and Fauna. For children or those feeling less athletic, Zitoune the little donkey will be happy to give you a ride! During the winter months, it is common to encounter tortoises. You’ll return tired, with stars in your eyes and lungs filled with fresh air!

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE ESSAOUIRA OASIS HIKE?
Please specify your preferred date at the time of booking.
Wear good sneakers or hiking shoes (no smooth soles), comfortable clothing (pants are more suitable for riding the dromedary), and something to cover yourself in winter and on windy days (as it is always a bit windy in Essaouira…). In good weather, bring a hat and sunscreen !
Remember to bring a large bottle of water per person (when on dromedaries, it will be difficult to pass a water bottle).
