Embark on a journey with your guide to discover an authentic and charming pottery workshop in Marrakech! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the medina, you will meet Tarik, a young and passionate potter, who will immerse you in the fascinating world of clay. Tarik will introduce you to the different types of earth used, such as red clay from the Ourika Valley and white clay from Fès, and reveal the secrets of their transformation. Then, it’s time for hands-on practice! Before shaping your pieces, the material must be prepared. Kneading and mixing are on the agenda, but here, we do it with a fun twist. Get ready to show off your best dance moves as you step in, barefoot, to soften the clay and remove air bubbles. Laughter is guaranteed! Next comes the moment you’ve been waiting for: creating your own pottery. Under Tarik’s expert eye, you will shape three pieces: first, two traditional forms to master the technique, followed by a unique piece to let your imagination run wild. After four days of drying, glazing, and firing, your creations will be delivered directly to your hotel, ready to be packed in your suitcase! This is a playful immersion accessible to both adults and children, a unique way to experience Moroccan craftsmanship through a genuine encounter facilitated by your guide and translator.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR MARRAKECH POTTERY WORKSHOP?
When booking, specify the date and time slot of your choice. Plan this activity at the beginning of your stay, as you will need to allow 4 days for drying/firing if you want to collect your work.
Be careful, the clay stains, so even if we lend you a protective apron during the workshop, wear comfortable clothes that can be stained without worry! Also, you'll be going barefoot to prepare the clay, so wearing flip-flops (or taking some with you) will make you feel completely comfortable.
In winter, bring a jumper to stay warm during the workshop and avoid catching a cold.
THEY TRIED THE MARRAKECH POTTERY WORKSHOP
AND THEY SAY IT BETTER THAN WE DO!
