Meet your guide near the Saadian Tombs before stepping into the workshop of a master calligrapher in Marrakech! Arabic calligraphy flourished alongside the expansion of Islam, poetry, and literature, evolving through local cultures into a variety of stunning graphic styles.
In a historic and welcoming setting in the heart of the medina, your master will passionately guide you through this workshop, sharing his expertise and love for the craft in a joyful, friendly atmosphere. You will discover the captivating history of calligraphy in the Muslim world, its evolution through the ages, and its vital role in artistic and spiritual expression.
You will also learn to craft your own traditional tools using ancestral methods before moving on to practice: will the student eventually surpass the master? Between strokes of your reed pen, you’ll enjoy a delicious Moroccan tea accompanied by local pastries while continuing your conversation with the teacher. You’ll leave proudly with your own creation and memories of a meaningful encounter filled with beauty and wisdom.

Available every day of the week, in the morning or afternoon.
During Ramadan (February 17 to March 20, 2026), also available all day. - For ages 7 and up. A coloring activity is available for children under this age.
- Accessible to people with reduced mobility, but not suitable for wheelchairs (however, another workshop located outside the medina is accessible and can be offered in this case, with transport to be provided at extra cost).
- Included : guide, artisan, raw materials and equipment needed for the activity, your work, mint tea.
- Not included : Transportation, tips.

Please specify the date and time slot of your choice, and the number of people at the time of booking.
Usually, calligraphy isn't messy. But just in case you let your inner artist take over a bit too much, or if you're Mr. or Mrs. Clumsy, wear comfortable clothes that can handle stains without worries!
In winter, bring a jumper to stay warm during the workshop and avoid catching a cold.
