Solidarity Day in the Amizmiz Valley

Amizmiz blanc

Head for the Amizmiz valley, in the foothills of the Atlas mountains, for a day in contact with nature. Your guide, who is a native of the region, will show you some of the most remote spots, protected from mass tourism, during a approximately 3.5 hours hike (intermediate level, and be careful if you are afraid of heights, there are short passages on the mountainside, but nothing insurmountable!). You'll start by following the bed of the Amizmiz wadi, lined with oleanders and fragrant fig trees. Then you'll climb up to admire the view over the valley. The pine forest you pass through smells of the South of France! The walk ends with a honey tasting at a beekeeper's: from the beehive to your taste buds, it doesn't get much more ‘short circuit’ than this!

After a hearty lunch prepared by your guide’s family (expect to savor some of the best tajine of your stay!), meet Brahim, a traditional potter in the village. Watch him demonstrate his skills and try your hand at pottery – though it takes years to match his speed and precision! At the end of this enriching day, your driver will return you to your Marrakech hotel.

The region was severely impacted by the earthquake on September 8, 2023, leaving many families, including your guide Said and potter Brahim, still living in tents. For each booking, 40 euros will be donated to Said and Brahim, in addition to their payment, to help them rebuild their homes.

"We spent a day in the Amizmiz Valley, organized in solidarity with the residents who are still suffering from the September 2023 earthquake. The hike offered varied landscapes between mountains, oases, and beekeeping, ending with an excellent tajine at Said's home. We visited the potter working under a tent to discover his amazing technique. It was fantastic!"
